Puducherry Technological University (Erstwhile Pondicherry Engineering College) is an Institution promoted and fully funded by the Government of Puducherry, India. It was established as an Engineering College in the year 1984 under the VII Five Year Plan. The college was upgraded to technological university with the approval of the UGC with effect from 5th September, 2020. The PTU was inaugurated by Shri. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon'ble Vice President, Govt. of India on 13.09.2021. The institution is ranked 144 in Engineering Category by NIRF India Rankings 2021.

For the attention of the first year UG/PG students & Lateral Entry Students: The Library & Information Centre seeks information from the students admitted in the academic year 2021-22 for providing photo ID cards on or before 31.1.2022 [Form].
For the attention of the UG/PG students with Disabilities: The UG/PG students with disabilities studying in PTU for the academic year 2021-22 are informed to submit personal data for the issue of Unique ID for persons with Disabilities (UDID) card by the DHTE, Govt. of Puducherry. [Form].
Odd Semester (2018-19 Regulation) Examinations for the V and VII Semester B.Tech. Examinations are scheduled to commence from 28.1.2022. [Time Table].

AICTE-UBA sponsored two days awareness programme on "Cyber Security" was organised by CSE dept. of PTU for the school teachers on 7.1.2022. Prof. Dr. G. Zayaraz, HOD,CSE welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Kalpana has presented the details about the awareness program. Dr. G. Sivaradje, Registrar delivered the felicitation address. Dr.S. Mohan, the Vice Chancellor of Puducherry Technological University in his presidential address highlighted the problems faced by children in cyber world. Thiru. P.T.Rudra Goud, Director of School education delivered the inaugural address. He talked about various cyber attacks which are vulnerable to the internet users and solutions for them. Dr. P. Salini proposed vote of thanks. Around 125 school teachers from elementary school to higher secondary school have enthusiastically participated in the programme which was coordinated by Dr. R.Kavitha kumar, Dr. P. Salini and Dr. M. Thenmozhi.
The PTU Women’s Cell organized a Webinar on “Significance of Nutritional Food during and after Adolescent Age” on 28.12.2021 in online platform for girls students. Dr.A.V.Ananthalakshmi, Assistant Professor, delivered the welcome address. The chief Guest Dr. P.Vandarkuzhali, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science, Avvaiyar Govt. College for Women, Karaikal highlighted importance of the intake of foods in a timely manner and advised the students to avoid junk food and aerated drinks. Dr.J.I.Sheeba,Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks. Nearly 70 students attended the webinar.
The AICTE-UBA sponsored one day awareness programme on Cyber Crimes and Cyber Security was organized by CSE dept on 29th December 2021. Prof. Dr. G. Zayaraz, HOD,CSE welcomed the gathering. Dr. R. Kalpana has presented the details of AICTE-UBA project and about the awareness workshop. Dr. S.Himavathi, Professor, Dept of EEE gave the inaugural address to the students. Dr. M. Thenmozhi delivered the vote of thanks. In the first session, Dr.P.Sunitha from Pondicherry University delivered a lecture on the title "Cyber Crimes and Cyber Laws". Dr.V.UMA from Pondicherry University has delivered a lecture on the title "Social Engineering Frauds" in the second session. A Hands on Session on “Secure usage of Internet and Smartphone” was presented by Mr. S. Koushik. Around 225 students from various branches enthusiastically participated in the programme. The session arrangements were made by Dr. P. Salini, Dr. M. Thenmozhi and Dr. R.Kavitha Kumar.
The Women’s Cell, PTU organized a webinar on “Crime against Women and Necessity for Self –defence” on 24.12.2021. Dr. R. Kavitha kumar, the Convenor, Women’s Cell, welcomed the gathering. Dr. G. Sivaradje, Registrar felicitated and expressed his views on violence against women and self-defence for women in today’s era. In his felicitation address by Dr. S. Mohan, the Vice Chancellor, emphasized upon various challenges faced by women in day-today life and the laws that the protect the women from such crimes. The Guest of Honour, Dr. S. Chayya Shah, Assistant Professor, Jitendra Chauhan College of Law, Mumbai delivered the talk on an extremely sensitive topic elucidating how violence and harassment against women could be handled, few safety tips, mobile apps to ensure women safety in times of distress. This programme was coordinated by Dr. J.Jayabharathy, Associate Professor, CSE and Dr. P. Maragathavalli, Assistant Professor, IT.
