Pondicherry Engineering College is an Institution promoted and fully funded by the Government of Puducherry. The College was started in 1984 under the VII Five Year Plan. It is an autonomous Institution for the purposes of administration, staff recruitment and College development and is managed by a Board of Governors. The College is affiliated to Pondicherry University, Pondicherry, for the academic purposes. The College has been growing from strength to strength since its inception.

As per the Govt. of Puducherry orders, the classes for all the programmes are suspended today. The college buses will not ply today...

A one day National Workshop on MEMS Design Tool - Intellisuite in association with Intellisense software private limited was presided by Dr. P. Dananjayan, Principal, PEC and inaguarated by Er.K.Sripadaraja, Director, Intellisense software private limited, Bangalore on Friday, 6th January, 2017. This one day workshop was organised by department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. About 50 participants including faculty members, research scholars and students from other institutions participated in this workshop. Dr.P.Rameshbabu , HOD(EIE), distributed the participation certificates at the end of workshop.
Staff on retirement honoured: Shri. S. Murugaiyan, Book Restorer, Central Library  and Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, Foreman, Dept. of CSE, PEC were honoured and felicitated on Friday, the 30th December, 2016 as both of them were retiring from their services with effect from 31.12.2016 on attaining their age of superannuation. Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, Ex-Serviceman was appointed as Junior Mechanic in the Department of CSE in the year 1990. Having served in PEC for 26 years, he got elevated to the apex position in technical cadre, Foreman. During his services, he has also completed M.Tech. in CSE and awarded Ph.D for his research work by Pondicherry University.
NPTEL recognizes PEC as a valuable NPTEL Local Chapter with a rating of AAA based on performance in NPTEL Online Certification courses during the period July-December, 2016.  PEC was felicitated with a plaque on 17th December, 2016 at the SPOC workshop held at IIT-Madras, by Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director, IITM and Chairman, NPTEL PIC. Out of 467 students registered for various online topics, 262 cleared the examinations successfully with 5 students grabbing 'Gold' category and 140 placed in 'Elite' category. As per the ranking, PEC stands 5th position among 700 colleges all over India. [Read more..]
