Pondicherry Engineering College is an Institution promoted and fully funded by the Government of Puducherry. The College was started in 1984 under the VII Five Year Plan. It is an autonomous Institution for the purposes of administration, staff recruitment and College development and is managed by a Board of Governors. The College is affiliated to Pondicherry University, Pondicherry, for the academic purposes. The College has been growing from strength to strength since its inception. PEC is ranked 122 in Engineering Category by NIRF India Rankings 2020.

 Students Conduct and Disciplinary Code 2009  

Inauguration of First year B.Tech. classes: The inaugural function (online) for the first year B.Tech. students (2020-2024 batch) is scheduled to be held on Monday, the 25th January, 2021 at 10.30 a.m. The flag hoisting event as part of the Republic Day will also be live webcasted on 26.1.2021. The students and parents are invited to attend the function at the links given in the circular. The induction programme(online) will be held till 30.1.2021. The regular classes in online mode will commence with effect from 1.2.2021. [Circular]
For the attention of staff members: The stakeholders may make objections/comments/suggestion, if any on the draft Recruitment Rules for the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) to the Principal on or before 19.2.2021 [Circular]

🚌 Arrangement of Charted Buses for Students & Staff: The college has arranged five charted buses which will ply with effect from 8.2.2021. The students are instructed to carry the bus passes (fee paid for Feb.- May 2020) during the travel by bus. [Circular]
For the attention of the B.Tech. students: The offline classes for final and pre-final year students will commence on 8.2.2021 and for the 2nd year students on 22.2.2021. The 3rd and 4th year B.Tech. students (hostellers) must report to the hostel on 25.1.2021 and 8.2.2021 is the reporting date for the 2nd year B.Tech. students. Literary Club's Expressions: The PEC LitClub unveiled its electronic magazine, EXPRESSIONS on 6.1.2021 in a virtual function. Dr. Santhi Simon, the Convenor, LitClub welcomed the participants. Dr. S. Kothandaraman presided over the function. Dr. K. Vivekanandan, Dean(Students) delivered felitication address. While Mr. Najmu Sehar, the editor introduced the LitClub activities, the magazine was unveiled by the Guest of Honour, Mr. Praveen D'Souza, PEC Alumnus B.Tech. ECE-1992 which was followed by his special address. A large number of students (from about 10 countries abroad) and faculty members have attended the webinar and shared their thoughts. Mr. Rahul Perri proposed vote of thanks. The magazine has as many as 35 articles, six poems all from the students and alumni of PEC totaling 100 pages. TNP NEWS: TCS Sponsored 10 days Value Added Course on Digital Transformation and the Trending Digital Technologies was inaugurated and presided by Dr. S. Kothandaraman, the Principal on 6.1.2021 at 9.30 AM via virtual mode. Dr. R. Elansezhian, Placement Officer welcomed the gathering and briefed about the contents and importance of attending the 10 days workshop. Dr. R. Manoharan, HoD CSE and Dr. V. Govindasamy, HoD IT addressed the gathering. TCS Academic Relationship Manager Mr. M. Ganesh Thirunavukkarasu highlighted about the value added course for PTU. Mr. Jonathan, TCS Senior Executive and the Course resource person delivered the concepts of Digital Transformation. TCS HR TAG Mr. Gobi was present. Dr. Salini and Dr. N.P. Subramanian Placement Faculty Coordinators organized the meeting. Various topics covered in the courses are: AI, Data Science, Augmented Reality, Voice Assistance, Motion UI, Deep Learning, Block Chain, IoT, Coding on HTML, CSS JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery, Angular, React JS, Node JS on Front End Perspective and Coding Knowledge on java MVC Concepts, hibernate and Groovy on back End Perspective. Everyday 100 students are participating in this virtual course.
Resumption of the college w.e.f. 17.12.2020 All the departments and sections resumed normal activities from 17.12.2020 onwards. Regular offline classes commenced for Research Scholars and final year PG students with effect from 17.12.2020. [Circular]
For the attention of B.Tech. (2016-20) students: The provisional certificates may be collected from the office of the Controller of Examinations, 2nd Floor, Administrative block by producing ID card and copy of Transfer Certificate between 9.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on all the working days.
Classes in the campus after 10 months: The institution resumes to normal in a phased manner coping with the COVID-19 unlock guidelines and accordingly the offline classes for the newly admitted PG students were conducted in the classrooms of all the departments with effect from 7.1.2021. The even semester classes for the UG programmes will be presented offline in the campus with effect from 8.2.2021 after a long gap of 10 months.
