Pondicherry Engineering College is an Institution promoted and fully funded by the Government of Puducherry. The College was started in 1984 under the VII Five Year Plan. It is an autonomous Institution for the purposes of administration, staff recruitment and College development and is managed by a Board of Governors. Nature Club & Thanks Giving Fest: The Inaugural Function of the Nature Club and the Thanksgiving Fest was held on Monday, the 24th April, 2017 at the Seminar Hall of the Department of EEE. The outgoing students did their part to their soon-to-be alma mater by way of laying foundation for the NATURE CLUB. Dr. P. Dananjayan, the Principal, bestowed the occasion by his valuable presence and wished the Head of the Department, the faculty members and the students for the initiative. As a first step, 60 saplings were planted in and around the Department under the guidance and supervision of Dr.R.Rajathy, the Faculty Advisor. The inauguration was followed by the thanksgiving fest. Physical Education Director on Retirement: The Principal, Deans and faculty bid farewell to Dr. V. RAGOTHAMAN, the Physical Education Director on Friday, the 28th April, 2017 who got his retirement from services on attaining the age of superannuation. Dr. Ragothaman served as PED for more than 25 years in PEC and he was instrumental in conduct of the the sports & cultural events in a more appealing manner.
PEC Ranked 38 among Engineering Institutions in India by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. Last year PEC was ranked at 49th position. A certificate to this effect duly signed by the Chairman and the Member Secretary, National Board of Accreditation (NBA) was received by the Principal on 2nd May, 2017.  [Read more...]
TCS Best Student Award Ceremony: M/s. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) awards 100 Best Students award to the accredited institutions. This year Mr. R. Ragul Raj, Final Year B.Tech. CSE was selected to receive the award from PEC. Mr. Natarajan Swaminathan, Sr. Consultant, TCS,the Chief Guest of the Ceremony held on Wednesday, the 26th April, 2017 presented the prestigious award to Mr.R. Ragul Raj.
College Day'17 was held  on Thursday, the 13th April, 2017 at PEC Auditorium. Dr. P. Dananjayan, the Principal in his college day annual report read out the major achievements and the activities of the college during the academic year 2016-17. In his presidential address, the chief guest Prof. Ramakrishna Ramaswamy, JNU, New Delhi emphasized the need for women empowerment by ensuring gender equality at all possible positions. Medals and certificates with cash prizes were awarded to the meritorious students. Ms. R. Padmini, B.Tech. ECE received the prestigious Lt. Governor's prize of Rs. 3,000 with medal. Mr. D. Shanmugasundaram, M.Tech. (Energy Technology) and Ms.S. Cathrine, MCA received Chief Minister's and Education Minister's awards, respectively carrying a medal with cash prize of Rs. 2,500 each. The Graduation Day'17 was held on Friday, the 7th April, 2017 at the Auditorium, PEC. The B.Tech., M.Tech., and Ph.D scholars graduated in the year 2014 were awarded degree certificates on occasion of this ceremony.  The live webcast of the event was streamed through http://webcast.gov.in/pec (a national portal of Govt. of India, Courtesy: NIC, New Delhi & Puducherry) and YouTube.
